The Secretariat for Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Employment of the Generalitat of Catalonia has published a new call for grants to reduce the gender gap in the ICT field. Within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union through the Next Generation program, the new grants seek to support projects aimed at reducing the female digital gap and initiatives aimed at promoting the female digital entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Catalan territory.
9 million euros and four lines are allocated, through grants of up to €150,000 until the total budget of the call is exhausted. The first line focuses on projects aimed at the visibility and promotion of female talent in the ICT field. Initiatives or projects aimed at training, capacity building and support for female digital entrepreneurship correspond to the second line of aid. The third line focuses on projects by technology-based companies led by women, projects for validating technology and business models, launching new products or services on the market, and finally, the fourth line refers to initiatives or projects aimed at financing small and medium-sized companies that develop technological or digital female intrapreneurship programs.
The amount of aid for beneficiary applications will be a maximum of €150,000 for projects in lines 1, 2 and 3, and a maximum of €25,000 for projects in line 4, which will be given until the total budget of 9 million euros is exhausted. At most, each beneficiary can request 80% of the activity budget. The criteria that will be taken into account to determine the amount of the subsidies are the cost of the project in coherence with the score obtained in the report according to the evaluation criteria and the budgetary availability.
